Ratatouille

Remmy (Patton Oswald) is a rat living in France. He has a highly developed sense of smell, which his father, the head rat, uses to sniff out poison, but  that Remmy wants to use for cooking. He sneaks into the kitchen of some old lady's house and sees Gusteau (Brad Garette) on TV. He is a famous chef who wrote a book called 'Anyone can Cook'. He is devastated to find out that Gusteau is dead after receiving a bad review from renown food critic Anton Ego (Peter O'Toole).

Unfortunately the colony is found by the old crazy lady sporting a shotgun and Remmy is separated from the rest. Urged on by the spirit of Gusteau, Remmy finds his way to none other than Gusteau's restaurant. Sneaking in Remmy sees the garbage boy, Linguini (Lou Romano) mess up a soup. Remmy fixes it, but Linguini sees him. Fortunately for them both  the soup is excellent and Skinner (Ian Holm), the head chef, mistakenly thinks Linguini did it. So together they form a team and put the restaurant back on the map.

Emile (Peter Sohn) Remmy's brother finds him and gets Remmy to steal food from the kitchen for him and his friends. Which is something that Remmy doesn't want to do. But Emile is family, so Remmy has no choice.

Things take a twist as Remmy discovers that Linguini is actually Gusteau's biological son and helps him take the restaurant from Skinner, who was slowly selling off Gusteau's name anyway, so no big loss. Unfortunately Anton Ego shows up to spoil things. Desperate, Linguini tells everyone about Remmy, the cooking rat. All the cooks leave and all seems lost but Remmy gets the rat colony to help out Linguini. The only cook who comes back is Colette (Janeane Garofalo) who's got a thing for Linguini.

Everything works out for the best, even Ego falls back in love with food, even after he discovers that the chef is a rat. Okay, fine the restaurant gets shut down because of a rat infestation, but hey they get a new place and everyone is happy.

This movie was adorable. The plot was excellent, the animation was awesome, the voice acting was incredible and the best thing about it was the animated short 'Lifted' at the start. Absolutely hilarious! Alien abductor in training. Awesome!

I had two slight little tiny problems with this movie. For some reason it felt a little long and none of the French rats had a French accent. Weird. That's it the rest was excellent. Even the bad guy technically won. Awesome.
