Terminator 2: Judgment Day
The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), is back, only this time with a twist.
Ten years after Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) was almost killed by the Terminator trying to kill her unborn child, John (Edward Furlong), she is in the loony bin, and John is now with foster parents. Once again two people were sent back in time, the Terminator and the T-1000 (Robert Patrick). The T-1000 is the brand new toy for the robots and they sent it back to kill John, but future-John was able to capture and reprogram a Terminator and send it back to protect himself.
After John is attacked by the T-1000, he orders the Terminator to help him free his mother. After that the three of them race south to get out of the country, since both the Terminator and Sarah are wanted criminals. Unfortunately, Sarah decides to tinker with fate and goes after Miles Dyson (Joe Morton) the man who is responsible for Cyberdine, the brain of the machines. Sarah is about to kill him, but stops at the last second. John and the Terminator show up after and explain to Miles the cons of his work (with lovely visuals too!). So they decide to destroy all of his work so that no one can follow in his footsteps. They have to break into his office and then are cornered by the police. Dyson is killed but he does blow up all his work in the process. Right about then is when the T-1000 shows up again and there is a fight scene. Followed by a chase scene with a helicopter, then another chase scene with an 18 wheeler, and then another fight scene where the good guys are victorious.
At the end the Terminator decides to sacrifice himself to ensure that Judgment Day will never happen. It's all very dramatic.
A little over dramatic is you ask me, and what was up with all the voiceovers? They were a bit on the annoying side. It was also a little weird that the main bad guy vanishes for large chunks of the movie. There were also a few parts that dragged, mostly involving Sarah and her internal moments. Still the acting was good and the special effects are still awesome, even in this day and age. Go liquid metal guy!
